It’s been a momentous couple weeks in American politics and we know that voters’ attention is focused on the newly energized race for president. But with just over two weeks before Primary Election Day on August 13, Ruth has been working hard to talk with voters to make sure they know there’s a contested election here in the Addison District, and she needs your help!
Did you know that Ruth is the only candidate in the race to be endorsed by the NEA-Vermont? Vermont’s largest labor union, representing teachers statewide, endorsed Ruth in recognition of her exceptional leadership and support for public schools in Vermont. She’s also been endorsed by the Sierra Club and Vermont Conservation Voters due to her strong support environmental legislation, and VPIRG Votes for her commitment to democracy. Ruth’s a Mom’s Demand Action starred candidate because of her vocal advocacy, as a mom of three kids, for common sense gun safety legislation. Finally, she was endorsed by Let’s Grow Kids for her leadership work on Act 76, Vermont’s historic childcare legislation.
Ruth is proud of these endorsements, but words of support from her constituents mean so much more. Have you read the recent letters to the editor in the Addison Independent? For example, Paul Cherrier, a long-time middle school math teacher writes,
“Ruth is the clear choice. She is a strong advocate for public education, possesses deep understanding of the issues…If education is not your top priority, please consider her experience, dedication, and character when casting your vote.”
You can read more letters and show your support for Ruth with a letter to the editor or a post on Front Porch Forum or social media. Be sure to spread the word that early voting is happening now and that the summer election day is August 13. And, if you can, make a contribution to Ruth’s campaig so she can continue her work to get voters to the polls in August and November.
Most importantly, remember to cast your ballot to re-elect Ruth to the Vermont Senate. Thank you for your support!
