Get Out the Goat!

One week from today is Election Day! it’s definitely time to get out the vote (GOTV). Or, when you’re running with Hannah Sessions, a goat dairy farmer – It’s time to Get Out the Goat!

Make a plan to vote. Vote early any time through Election Day on November 3. Take your ballot back in person to your town clerk or drop box—it’s risky to mail it at this point, as ballots need to be received by 7pm on Election Day. If you haven’t gotten a ballot, check with your town clerk or the Vermont Voter Portal to register or update your address. You can register and vote the same day, early or on November 3. Make a plan and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot! Remind your friends & family too!

Call Voters with Us. We’ll be calling our voters to remind them to cast their ballots. These calls are fun, especially when you do them with friends. Bring a snack to share. If you volunteer, you’ll get a goat sticker!

Find Our GOTV Goat in the Addison Independent. There will be 15 GOTV Goats in this week’s Addison Independent print edition. Pick up the paper and see if you can find all 15! Then remind 15 friends get out to vote this election, here in Vermont, of course, but also in crucial elections across the country!

Join a Honk & Wave. Grab your Ruth & Hannah signs and join a GOTV honk & wave in Bristol (four corners downtown), Middlebury (traffic circle near Midd Inn), or Vergennes (location TBD) on Monday 11/2, 4-6pm and Tuesday 11/3 at 7-9am, 11am-1pm, and 4-6pm. Speaking of yard signs, if for some reason you still haven’t put yours out, please do so for this final week!

Come to Election Night Party. The Addison County Democrats will be hosting an election watch party at the Middlebury Inn, 7-11pm on Election Night. Come watch election results roll in from across the state and country and (hopefully) celebrate a Blue Wave! Registration details coming soon.
