Tuesday was an incredible day! The voters of the Addison District decisively re-elected me and elected my running mate, Hannah Sessions, to represent the Addison District in the Vermont Senate. I am grateful for your continued support and honored to represent you. I will continue to work hard to maintain your trust and support. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who joined me in the campaign – Hannah, my family, other candidates, and interns & volunteers. It was truly a team effort!

Voters also elected an all-Democratic delegation to serve the Addison District in the State House. As the senior senator for the district, I led campaign efforts and I couldn’t be more proud of our team effort.
We presented a positive vision for Vermont, engaging with people about the issues that matter most to them. We offered ideas and solutions rather than simply a list of problems and complaints about our opponents. Even in the face of mean-spirited & negative campaigning from our opponents, we stayed positive, running on issues & character rather than attacks & bullying.
We ran collaborative, engaging campaigns, working together to knock on thousands of doors and attend hundreds of events, talking to voters face-to-face about their hopes, dreams, and challenges. We didn’t simply send dozens of postcards, run hundreds of digital ads, and put up huge signs along the road. We talked with people.
We spent our grassroots campaign funds locally, supporting businesses in towns across our region, including print shops, restaurants, newspapers, and community organizations. Rather than hiring out-of-state consultants and pouring cash into global tech giants, we relied on local expertise, dozens of volunteers, and dedicated family members to run our campaigns.
We will make a fantastic team for the Addison District in the State House, working together for you!
Finally, the national election results are amazing! Voters across the country sent a clear message that they want change. I am especially excited about the results in Texas, Georgia, and Wisconsin, all states I’ve called home before Vermont. Thank you to my friends in those states, including Stacey Abrams, whose persistent grassroots efforts to register voters and speak truth to power paved the way for historic election wins this year.
Thank you to you, and all of the voters who showed up here and across the country. After two extremely difficult years, I am optimistic for our democracy again. Now the work begins.
