It’s hard to believe, but another election year is almost upon us! In January, I begin my second year in the Vermont State Senate, and in May, I will start campaigning for re-election. During the legislative session, I want to be working hard for my constituents, not raising money for my campaign. I’m asking you now to contribute $20 for 2020 so I can focus on legislating during the session and then hit the ground running for re-election as soon as the session ends.
As a new state senator, I have worked hard to pass legislation that will improve the lives of Vermonters by strengthening our education system, expanding health care, protecting our environment, and building more resilient communities. In 2019, I helped usher in landmark legislation to ensure reproductive liberty for every Vermonter, protect children from lead in drinking water, create inclusive schools, limit single-use plastics, expand dental care, and stimulate sustainable agriculture.
During the next session, I will introduce a bill that will provide full tuition assistance to many of Vermont’s most vulnerable college students. I will continue to advocate for an increased minimum wage and a strong paid family leave program. As a member of the Climate Solutions Caucus, I will support meaningful climate legislation and introduce a bill to support forest carbon sequestration. As a member of the Women’s Caucus, I will advocate for reforms to ensure the safety and dignity of women in our criminal justice system, and introduce a bill that will lead to gender equity in the State House artwork.
I am helping solve complex policy problems across state government. I am working hard for you. Make a small donation to help me continue my public service for another term. Contribute $20 for 2020 now.
We all know that 2020 is a crucial election year for our country. I will do my part on the campaign trail to engage voters and be sure they vote next November. I will knock doors, make calls, send mail, and show up at events around the district. I will help create the change we need.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I could not do this work without you. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a new year filled with justice and joy.
